The Story of Rosemont

Rosemont, Ontario straddles Highway 89 involving three townships, Mono Township, Mulmur Township and Adjala/Tosorontio Township.

There are three businesses in Rosemont, The Globe Restaurant, Rosemont Hall and Rosemont General Store and Kitchen all owned and operated by the Rosemont Hospitality Group. The Rosemont Hospitality Group employs experienced professionals including chefs, bakers and servers who have worked for many years in various parts of the local farming community.

The newly renovated Globe restaurant on HWY 89 between Shelburne and Alliston is a place for travelers and locals to sit down and enjoy time together! Enjoy fresh, local flavours in a rich and inviting country setting. We highlight sustainable, locally sourced ingredients with a focus on delighting the senses through exceptional flavour and taste.

We believe that food tells the story of a region's history, culture and people. Our guests enjoy an experience where they learn about, appreciate, and enjoy a meal that reflects our local cuisine. The story behind our food originates in the fresh and local ingredients we carefully source. Knowing where each part of your meal comes from creates a unique connection between you and your food. We refer to this crafted relationship as hyperlocal food.

That is where you come in; Reporting to the Executive Chef, our Cooks will create seasonal menus in accordance with our passion and vision for making our food an experience for our guests.

As a Cook , you will be responsible for the day-to-day preparation of our menu, maintaining our high standards for hygiene, food safety, maintenance of equipment.  You will be a self-starter who with little supervision can develop a crew that shares in our vision, solving any issues or concerns that may arise, ensuring an unparalleled working environment.

 

 

Skills

Creativity: Utilizing the freshest of ingredients to create desirable plates and menus in accordance with the restaurant's policy and vision.

Leadership Skills: manage the entire kitchen, from the dishwasher to the cooks. Ensures that hygiene and food safety standards in all stages of food preparation.

Excellent Knife Skills: working with knives requires excellent technique when cutting and preparing food. Hand-eye coordination, proper maintenance of knives, and safety procedures are necessary.

Time Management Skills: Kitchens get busy quickly; follows proper ordering, inventory and receiving procedures

Attention to Detail: execute a great plate each time, every time.

Integrity: Demonstrates high personal integrity, business ethics and takes every opportunity to promote the restaurant.

 

Qualifications

Post-Secondary degree, diploma or certificate in related field an asset

Previous Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine experience

Culinary  Leadership experience of at least 5 years

Safe Food Handling Certification

Red Seal Certification

Working knowledge of MS Office, and Point of Sale Software
